SEPANG, Aug 25 — Selangor is the world’s largest glove producer, says Invest Selangor Bhd (Invest Selangor) chief executive officer Dato’ Hassan Azhari Idris.

Hassan said this is after four top glove producers, Top Glove Corp Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd (Hartalega), Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd and Maxter Glove Manufacturing Sdn Bhd chose to invest and run their operation in the state.

“Hartalega is one of the biggest glove manufacturers and is expanding fast, in fact, they are opening a new plant here next month.

“The company is expected to open another operation site in Kuala Langat next year. They will invest more than RM4 billion in the next three to five years,” said Hassan when met after joining Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari’s visit to Hartalega Next Generation Complex (NGC) here on Monday.

He said the company’s new plant will offer about 4,000 job opportunities.
