LZS launches Bait Al-Hasanah’s student excellence module

KLANG, Sept 19— The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) today launched the Student Excellence Module, for students at the LZS Bait Al-Hasanah Needy Children Hostel.

LZS Chief Executive Officer, Saipolyazan M Yusop said Bait Al-Hasanah module is an initiative taken to ensure poor children in Selangor are given the best education which promises a safe and secure life.

Saipolyazan said the module developed specifically for the hostel residents was aimed at producing individuals who are well-balanced emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and socially.

“The module will cover three components of excellence namely personality excellence, academic excellence and leadership excellence,” he told reporters at the launch of the module by Bait Al Hasanah advisory committee chairman Datuk Profesor Emeritus Dr Muhamad Awang here today.

He said the comprehensive module developed in collaboration with Universiti Pendidikan Sultan ldris (UPSI) would be used for the 157 children at the hostel.

In addition Saipolyazan said poor children registered with the hostel would also be given the opportunity to continue their studies at fully residential schools where their education would be borne by the zakat centre.
