RAWANG, Oct 9 — World renowned air-conditioning manufacturing company, Daikin, has chosen Selangor as its location of choice to build its largest Centralised Distribution Hub in Southeast Asia.
Daikin Malaysia’s chief executive officer Shogo Ando said the hub will replace eight logistics centres owned by three of its subsidiaries namely Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Daikin Malaysia Sales & Services Sdn Bhd and Acson Malaysia Sales & Services Sdn Bhd.
“This is to optimise logistics and increase the efficiency of Daikin Malaysia’s expansion other than ensuring a fast and responsive supply chain network.
“The construction of this hub will reduce 30 per cent of our transports’ carbon emission. The move also reduces warehouse, transportation as well as operational management costs apart from raising the delivery performance and logistics quality,” Ando said in his speech during the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Daikin Malaysia’s Centralised Distribution Hub here, yesterday.
The ceremony was launched by Invest Selangor Bhd (Invest Selangor) chief executive officer Dato’ Hassan Azhari Idris.
The development of the hub covering an area measuring 5.26 hectares in size, is valued at RM126 million and is slated for completion in September 2021.
