SHAH ALAM, Oct 19 — The Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) mobile application will soon be implemented across the state, which will help local authorities to save a lot.
State Local Government, Public Transportation and New Village Development executive councillor Ng Sze Han said not only does the online system provide convenience to the public, but it also reduces paper usage as well as maintenance of parking machines.
“The state government is in the stage of finalising this matter. This system is advanced and will make things easier for everyone as there is no longer the need to find coupon agents.
“Every year, the state budget emphasises on efforts to turn Selangor into a Smart State by 2025 and the implementation of the SSP is one of those efforts taken towards that direction,” Ng told Selangorkini.
On February 8, Ng said the SSP, which was introduced in July 2018, became the top most used parking mobile application in Malaysia with 10 out of the 12 local councils in Selangor making use of the system, other than Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL).
He said Selangor targets to reach one million users this year.
