Covid-19: Selangor records 178 infections, Klang highest with 48 cases

SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — The Klang district recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 48 infections out of the 178 daily cases reported in the state today.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the new cases in Selangor include two imported infections involving foreigners.

The state reported 98 new recoveries.

“Out of the 176 (local) cases reported, 102 cases are from existing clusters, while 38 are from close contact screenings and 36 infections were detected from other testings,” said Dr Noor Hisham in a statement today.

According to the data by the Health Ministry’s National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), Klang district topped the list of new infections recorded in Selangor today.

This is followed by Hulu Langat with 39 cases, Petaling (36), Kuala Langat (26), Sepang (19), Gombak (7), Kuala Selangor (1), while both Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor registered zero case each.

As of noon today, the cumulative figure recorded in Selangor stands at 6,701, out of the total 42,872 cases recorded nationwide.
