SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — The Selangor government-linked companies and its subsidiaries will ensure the initiatives and programmes announced in the Belanjawan Selangor 2021 (2021 Selangor Budget) would reach the general public as well as the targeted groups.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the strategies laid out is not only at the state administrative level but had inclusively included the Selangor’s Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) and state subsidiaries to help deliver the message to the people.

“This has been discussed since the announcement of the state’s third economic stimulus package and from there we had given the picture of this journey for us in 2021 and perhaps 2022 as well.

“These subsidiary companies will lead in delivering (the message) to the people via the press and on social media platforms,” said Amirudin in an interview on Astro Awani last night.

The third phase of the Selangor Prihatin Package announced in July carried a total of RM55.85 billion in economic value and had included coordination with various levels of relevant state agencies.

Amirudin through the pilot projects held during the movement control order period earlier this year, the people have shown that they were ready in moving towards digitalisation, which leaves the state government to prepare the necessary platforms for the users.

“I am confident that we can move forward and continue with growing and strengthening the Selangor economy despite the Covid-19 situation,” he added.

The Selangor administration had allocated a total of RM2.323 billion for the state budget to be dispersed to the people through five strategies.

The strategies are to propel Selangor towards its smart state vision via a digitalisation agenda; to create a peaceful Selangor and a prosperous ‘ummah’; to drive value creation and develop human resource; to ensure environmental sustainability, food security and the security of food supply chains; and to revitalise the economy and develop industries.
