SHAH ALAM, Nov 18 — The Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant (WTP) has resumed operations at 9.30pm following a temporary closure earlier today.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the pollution detected by Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) was resolved and the contamination level reading was at zero TON (Threshold Odour Number).

“No water supply disruption had affected the users as the treatment plant was only suspended for a few hours,” he said on a Twitter post tonight.

Earlier, the Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) had alerted on the forced shut down of the Rantau Panjang WTP at 7.10pm due to the odour pollution of an unidentified solvent detected.

It said Air Selangor had reported a pollution level reading of one TON at the water intake of the Rantau Panjang WTP at 7pm.
