Shah Alam, Nov 11 – Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) has started restoring water in stages to 1,279 areas in the Klang Valley affected by water cuts from 1.45pm today.
Air Selangor chief executive officer Suhaimi Kamaralzaman said the restoration of water supply is divided into two groups of areas.
“The first group which covers 599 areas will have their water supply fully restored starting from 3pm tomorrow, while the second group will have their water supply restored by 3pm on November 13 (Friday) involving 680 areas,” he said in a press conference in Taman Gasing Indah, near Petaling Jaya today.
He said all the four Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) has started operating since 2.40am today after 0 TON (threshold odour number) reading was recorded for three consecutive times.
He added Air Selangor are extremely disappointed with the pollution that occurred frequently because it forced them to suspend water treatment plants’ operation that has impacted consumers.
He said Air Selangor is committed to ensuring that users would receive their water supply as scheduled.
Earlier, Air Selangor top management had accompanied Bukit Gasing assemblyman R Rajiv to distribute bottled waters to residents affected by the unscheduled water cuts in Flat Taman Gasing Indah.
Information on the latest water supply recovery status in affected areas is accessible via Air Selangor’s official social media channels at Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, the Air Selangor smartphone application as well as its website at www.airselangor.com.
