Selangor records highest Covid-19 infections with 407 cases

SHAH ALAM, Nov 19 — Selangor recorded its highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 407 infections out of the 1,290 daily cases reported in the country today.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said no imported case was reported in the state.

“Out of the 407 cases reported, 361 cases are from existing clusters including 55 from the newly detected cluster (Kapas BJ Cluster), while 19 are from close contact screenings, one from Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI), and 26 infections were detected from other testings,” said Dr Noor Hisham in a statement today.

Nearly a week ago, on November 13, Selangor recorded its highest number of Covid-19 daily cases with 364 infections out of the 1,304 reported in the country.

According to the data released by the Health Ministry’s National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) today, Klang district topped the list of new infections recorded in Selangor with 286 cases.

This is followed by Hulu Langat district with 69 cases, Petaling (22), Kuala Langat (15), Sepang (11), while two cases each in Gombak and Kuala Selangor.

Hulu Selangor recorded no Covid-19 infections and Sabak Bernam remains as a green zone with no cases recorded.

As of noon today, the cumulative figure of coronavirus recorded in Selangor stands at 8,594, out of the total 51,680 cases recorded nationwide.
