SHAH ALAM, Dec 31— Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has described the year 2020 as challenging and will be recorded as a historic period.
He said aside from plans being put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the change in government at the Federal level and the economic slowdown also had played its part.
However, Amirudin said he was grateful to have been able to overcome the hold-ups together with others thanks to strong spirit and perseverance.
“Alhamdulillah (thank God), with the strong spirit and perseverance we have managed to overcome all the challenges together, continue to remain strong and will now move on to the new year,” he wrote on Facebook.
Amirudin said he hopes for Selangor to achieve multiple successes next year, which would in return place it as the best state in the country.
“My prayer for 2021 is for it to bring many rays of hope to the people, as well as bring success and glory to Selangor to stay as the leading state in the country,” he said in a post along with his 2021 New Year’s address to the people.
