Used car dealer charged with CBT of more than RM100,000

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 8 —  A used-car dealer pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to three counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT), involving more than RM100,000 of the company’s fund for personal interests.

On the first and second count, Ng Wei Lun, 36, who is a business partner to  Sim Hon Loon, 36, at CV Smart Auto Trading and entrusted to manage the company’s Public Bank account, was alleged to have transferred RM100,000 from their company’s account to a Public Bank account belonging to CV Smart Auto Sdn Bhd, which belonged to him (Ng).

Both the offences were allegedly committed at CV Smart Auto Trading at Jalan 1/152 Taman OUG Parklane, Brickfields here, on September 7 and 14, 2018.

Ng was also charged with committing a similar offence, involving RM644.60, by transferring the funds from CV Smart Auto Trading’s account to a ban account belonging to Aset Kayamas Sdn Bhd for management fee of a housing unit  belonging to him.

The offence was allegedly committed at the same place on February 21, 2018.

All the charges were framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, which provides an imprisonment for up to 20 years and whipping, and fine, if found guilty.

Judge Datin Sabariah Othman allowed Ng, unrepresented, bail of RM30,000 with one surety for all charges and also ordered him to report himself at the nearest police station once a month.

        Deputy public prosecutor  Afiq Nazrin Zaharinan prosecuted.

        The court set January 8 for mention.
