Sabah Deputy Chief Minister tests positive for Covid-19

KOTA KINABALU, Jan 5 — Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan has tested positive for Covid-19 after taking a swab test on Sunday, his political secretary Arlinsia Agang said.

Arlinsia said Jeffrey, who is also Sabah Agriculture and Fisheries Minister is currently undergoing treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital here and his condition is stable.

“Despite this setback, he will still carry out his responsibilities as the Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture and Fisheries Minister through video conferences, emails and other means.

“In the meantime, Jeffrey said he is feeling fine, and he calls for calm and prays that Sabah will be free from Covid-19,” she said in a statement here yesterday.

Sabah recorded 303 new Covid-19 cases yesterday.
