Selangor coaches evaluated monthly, ensure target met

By Khairul Azran Hussin

SHAH ALAM, Jan 27 — The Selangor State Sports Council (MSN) continues the monthly assessment of the key performance index (KPI) of its coaches to achieve the set targets.

Its executive director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi said the assessment exercise is to ensure that the supervisors appointed are responsible towards their respective duties throughout the movement control order (MCO) period.

He said the allowance of coaches and athletes are also paid according to the attendance report as well as the training types proposed to the MSN on a monthly basis.

“We understand the athletes are facing uncertainty following the cancellation of the Malaysian Games (Sukma) 2020 and other competitions. However, performing athletes would always work hard to maintain their performance at all times,” he told SelangorKini today.

Mihamad Nizam said MSN will be reevaluating the athletes’ training programmes following the deferment of a few championships due to the current high daily Covid-19 cases.

The Johor Sukma and Para Sukma 2020, which were scheduled to be held from March 6 to 14′ were cancelled following the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nevertheless, Johor is still given the right to organise the Games in 2022 as the state is almost 99 per cent prepared in terms of the planning, management, technical operations and the competition facilities.
