SELangkah, MySejahtera must share data to curb Covid-19 spread

SHAH ALAM, Feb 2 — Putrajaya must set up a fast-track system to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus especially within new clusters, says the Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Amirudin said the measure currently in use only focuses on the number of infections, and not breaking the chain of infection before it starts spreading within the community.

“The state government is of the view that among the immediate actions that need to be taken includes implementing the integration of SELangkah (Step in, safely) app and MySejahtera or sharing of the latest data.

“There must be a way to ensure that the tracking system works faster, this will be one of the issues that I will be speaking to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba about,” he said during the Agenda Awani talk show broadcasted last night.

Amirudin had also urged the Federal government to share data or the latest information to enable mobilisation of efforts and preventive measures to be taken immediately.

On January 20, Amirudin said the SELangkah mobile app was upgraded to enable self-monitoring by Covid-19 patients.

The upgrading initiative carried out in collaboration with Selgate Corporation (Selgate) involved setting up a hotline and call centre that operates 24 hours to guide users on how to use the self-monitor kit.
