Deputy mayor is acting Shah Alam mayor

SHAH ALAM, March 19 — Shah Alam deputy mayor Mohd Rashidi Ruslan was appointed as acting mayor for the city effective Monday (March 15).

Mohd Rashidi who replaced Datuk Haris Kasim took an oath for the post at Wisma MBSA (Shah Alam City Council) here today.

Meanwhile, Haris who was appointed as the new state finance officer hoped that efforts to propel Shah Alam into a low carbon city will be continued and achieved before 2035.

“Various activities were held even at the international level in Dubai, aside from having won a few national awards.

“Throughout my stint of administering MBSA for one year and 10 months, my job had been smooth because all the staff there had given me their full cooperation. I hope this will continue,” he said.

On Monday, Haris was appointed to the post to replace Dato’ Nor Azmie Diron, who was appointed as the new state secretary effective February 3.
