SHAH ALAM, March 9 — The free Covid-19 community screening will continue in Selangor despite the drop in the daily figure of infections in the state, says the Selangor Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the state government will be focusing on hotspot areas where high number of Covid-19 cases are recorded.

“I urge the people of Selangor to take advantage of the initiative and get themselves screened. The state government has allocated an amount to ensure that the public has access to free Covid-19 screenings.

“We should not let our guard down as the virus is still present within the community,” said Amirudin after the launch of the state-level International Women’s Day celebration, here yesterday.

The Selangor administration has allocated a RM6 million fund through to Kita Selangor Package for the free Covid-19 testing initiative, which aims to benefit 50,000 people.

The programme is focused on several target groups such as senior citizens, especially those place at nursing homes as well as hemodialysis centres in the state, and also the low-income group and Selangor graduates.
