SHAH ALAM, March 16 — The Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS) will work with the state representatives to ensure the success of the Roda Darul Ehsan (RiDE) initiative.
Its executive director Mohamad Nizam Marjugi said the effort is to identify those who are truly eligible to receive the benefit and work in the e-hailing sector.
“Apart from cooperating with the state assemblymen office, we can get help from the Selangor Local Youth Movement (PeBS) to identify the target groups,” he said when contacted.
Meanwhile, Mohamad Nizam said a total of 500 individuals have benefitted from the RiDE programme in the first two months of this year.
He added that there are still many vacancies to meet the target of 3,000 participants and had welcomed the public to sign up for the initiative.
The RiDE programme offers a B2 motorcycle license subsidy of RM350, RM150 cash and a Social Security Organisation contribution of RM70 per year.
On December 14 last year, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said a total of 1,980 individuals had benefitted from the programme since it was launched on August 1 the same year.
The 2021 Selangor Budget had allocated RM2 million for the continuance of the initiative.
