SUBANG JAYA, April 20 — A total of 780 entrepreneurs have signed up their businesses on the Selangor e-commerce platform, Platform Selangor (Plats 2.0), since it was launched on April 11.

Selangor Digital Partner operations manager Najwa Ashiqen Abdul Rahman said the figure is inclusive of food-related traders, where 200 of them are those taking part in the Ramadan bazaars.

“The traders are under the jurisdiction of six local councils in the state. The response had been overwhelming as we saw 400 registrations in the second week after its launch,” she said in a briefing on the Plat 2.0 programme to the traders at the Bandar Kinrara Ramadan bazaar, here yesterday.

Najwa Ashiqen said at least 50 per cent of the 80 stalls at the said bazaar are targetted to sign-up with the e-commerce platform.

She said to date, a total of 100 Selangor Digital Partner volunteers, inclusive of youths, have met with the traders to brief on the initiative, adding that some 1,000 volunteers are expected to take part on the awareness campaign of the state’s digitalisation agenda.

The Plats e-kitchen initiative was introduced on April 18 last year in an effort to help small businesses generate income during the fasting month following the Covid-19 outbreak.

It was then improved as Plats 2.0, where the Selangor government has targetted more businesses to take part in the initiative this year, in line with the digitalisation era.
