KAJANG, May 8 — The drive-through testing method may be used at all Covid-19 community screening locations throughout the state which takes place today until 10 June.

Selcare Clinic manager Mohd Noor Md Nasir said the approach conducted alongside the normal screening method will save more time and provide comfort to the public.

“Maybe there are those who are afraid to come and line up in large numbers, so a safe step is to sit in the car. Also, maybe there are senior citizens who have difficulty walking, so they can sit in the car.

“But for those sitting under the tent, do not worry, as we still maintain the social distancing,” he said during the community screening at Cempaka Hall, in Saujana Impian, Kajang here today.

He said the drive-through method was used today at both screenings in Kajang and Bandar Rinching Public Hall in Semenyih, previously it was first introduced at the screenings in Sungai Long and Shah Alam.

Mohd Noor added that his team always upgraded their screening method to ensure it continues to run smoothly after more than a year of running the programme.

“For those who have registered, a barcode will be issued in less than five minutes after screening. After the test, you can go back and wait at home for the results,” he added.

The Selangor government is actively conducting a Covid-19 monitoring programme via free screenings throughout the 56 state constituencies starting today to June 10.

The programme under the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak mitigation phase benefits those at risk, were in close contact, symptomatic and worries about their health status.
