By Khairul Azran Hussin

SHAH ALAM, May 7 — The free Covid-19 community screening organised by the state government aims to track down the ‘silent carrier’ of the virus as well as control the spread of the pandemic.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state uses the principles of FTTIS (Find, Trace, Test, Isolate, Support System) as its strategy to control the spread of Covid-19.

“The Selangor Public Health Action Plan has implemented a programme to actively detect positive cases to start the Covid-19 Pandemic Mitigation Phase.

“Therefore, free targeted community screenings for Selangor residents will begin from May 8 (tomorrow) until June 10 in all state constituency, with the target of (covering) two constituencies a day,” he said on Facebook today.

He said the screening would begin in the Kajang and Semenyih state constituencies tomorrow (May 8), followed by Sungai Ramal and Balakong state constituencies on May 9.

Amirudin added that the state government is aware of the recent increase in new cases that exceeded the 1,200 level and the need to formulate more proactive actions to prevent the fourth wave of the pandemic.

“We can win this war against Covid-19. Invite your family as well as friends to attend the free screening, early detection of the infection can speed up our victory.

“Find out the location and date of the free screening service near you at www.amirudinshari.com/saringan-covid19,” he said.
