SHAH ALAM, June 4 — The public is reminded to continue adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent Covid-19 infections as the outbreak is spreading widely in the community.
According to the Health Ministry (MOH) since May 1, about 80 per cent of the current Covid-19 cases in the country are from sporadic infections within the community and not from clusters.
“Practice the set SOPs…. Avoid sporadic cases from happening,” said the Health Promotion Branch of the Selangor State Health Department on Facebook.
Sporadic cases are detailed as follows:
– The cause of the infection is unknown
– Cannot be linked to other cases or clusters
– Occurs in isolation and randomly
Yesterday, Malaysia recorded 8,209 new Covid-19 infections, bringing the cumulative total for positive cases to 595,374.
