SHAH ALAM, June 12 — A total of 97,565 people in Selangor had participated in the second phase of the free Covid-19 community screening organised by the state government in 56 state constituencies, says Selangor Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said out of the total screened, 3.43 per cent or 3,342 individuals are suspected positive Covid-19, from the screening that was conducted from May 8 to June 10.

“Thank you to all Selangor people who came and not forgetting thank you too to all the staff and agencies involved during this targetted Covid-19 community screening programme.

“Continue to take proactive steps and always practice self-control. Together we can be free from the threat of Covid-19,” he posted on Facebook.

According to Amirudin, the third phase of the screening will be continued to locations with high infections rate, as well as industrial and manufacturing sectors, with a target of 100,000 individuals to be screened.

On Thursday, Amirudin said more than 100,000 people in Selangor had undergone the free screening that was conducted in two phases since last year.

The first phase was launched during the movement control order (MCO) 1.0 until MCO 2.0 and over 26,000 individuals were screened.
