GOMBAK, July 26 — A total of 2,600 residents in Taman Templer will receive their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax).

Its state representative Mohd Sany Hamzan said the vaccination process starts today until tomorrow focusing on the senior citizens as well as small traders, e-hailing workers and individuals who are exposed to the community.

“The name list was collected by the village head and council members two weeks before the programme starts. We have confirmed that those who are eligible for this programme have yet to receive their appointment via MySejahtera.

“As of 1pm today, it is estimated that 60 per cent of 1,300 residents who have received their vaccination slots turned up today and were given the Sinovac vaccine,” he said when met at the Dewan Sri Siantan vaccination centre (PPV) here, today.

At the same time, Mohd Sany reminded the community to be alert of their appointment details provided via the SELangkah application to ensure a smooth process.

“This (Covid-19) is about life and death, hence the state government implements the vaccination programme as part of its effort to curb the outbreak.

“I urge the public, especially those who have the chance to get vaccinated, to do so to protect themselves and their families,” he said while adding that the community must continue to observe the standard operating procedures (SOP) even after being vaccinated.

Under Selvax Industry, a total of two million doses were provided to one million workers including foreign workers to help curb the outbreak at workplaces.

Meanwhile for Selvax Community, it will benefit 250,000 people who have yet to be vaccinated.
