Several IRB counters in EMCO areas closed from today

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 — Several Inland Revenue Board (IRB) service counters located in areas placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will be temporarily closed from today.

The IRB in a statement said this would involve all Tax Services, Stamp Duty and Government Special Assistance Counters.

“As such, all appointments that have been approved via e-Janji Temu have been cancelled and customers will have to apply for a new appointment when the counters reopen,” read the statement.

According to the IRB, the Payment Centre Counters would continue to operate but the operating hours will be from 8 am to 12 noon on weekdays.

“The services provided are cash and cheque payments for withholding tax, seniman kembara, real property gains tax remission, tax compound, and other tax-related payments. Payments for income tax and other taxes can be made by debit and credit cards while payments for other services can only be made online,” it added.

During the EMCO period, IRB Hasil Care Line and Hasil Live Chat will continue to operate as usual to assist customers, especially taxpayers.

The operating hours for Hasil Care Line at 03-8911 1000 or 603-8911 1100 (overseas) and BPR Hotline (1800-88-2747) are from 9am to 4pm on Monday to Friday while HASiL Live Chat operates Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.
