National Blood Centre urges Damansara and surrounding residents to donate blood

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 — Residents of Damansara and its surrounding areas have been urged to donate blood at a campaign organised by the National Blood Centre (PDN) at Lotus’s Mutiara Damansara (formerly known as Tesco).

The PDN, in an update on its Facebook page today, said the public’s response towards the four-day initiative, which began today, had received poor response from the public.

“We were targeting at least 40 bags of blood at this location today. However, as of 2.15pm, only seven bags of blood were collected.

“To the people of Damansara and the surrounding areas, come help us get the blood supply stock here, your contribution is very much needed to ensure that patients get adequate blood supply,” said the update.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also shared the posting on his Twitter account.

“Your (blood) donation can save lives,” he tweeted.

The PDN will also organise a blood donation campaign on the ground floor of Centre Court B of the D’Pulze shopping mall in Cyberjaya from August 27-31 from 11am to 5pm.

To facilitate the blood donation process, donors are requested to fill in the attendance slip at the following link, https://linktr.ee/dermadarah.
