Nearly 80 pct of adult population in Selangor received first vaccine dose

SHAH ALAM, Aug 17 — A total of 3.77 million individuals, or 79.4 per cent of the adult population in Selangor, have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccines, as of today.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said a cumulative total of 6.28 million vaccine doses had been administered to the Selangor people via the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

“A total of 2.51 million individuals in Selangor or 52.9 per cent of the state population, have completed two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Meanwhile an additional 299,102 doses were delivered via the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax),” he said on Facebook today.

Earlier, the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) in an infographic on Twitter stated that Selangor’s vaccination rate on August 16 is at 96,114 out of the total 501,776 doses of vaccines administered nationwide.
