Record-high daily Covid-19 cases jumps to almost 20,000

SHAH ALAM, Aug 4 — Malaysia has recorded its highest Covid-19 cases at 19,819 today, bringing the cumulative total to 1,183,110 cases.

This is a jump of more than 2,000 cases than the previous record-high of 17,045 infections registered on July 25.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a post on Twitter today said Selangor had recorded the highest daily infections with 8,377 cases.

Kuala Lumpur registered 2,467 cases followed by Kedah (1,371), Johor (1,162), Kelantan (1,003), Sabah (949), Penang (867), Negeri Sembilan (800), Perak (662), Pahang (558), Sarawak (552), Melaka (508), Terengganu (481), Putrajaya (46), Perlis (11) and Labuan (5).
