Water plant’s critical assets works passes 80 per cent completion mark

SHAH ALAM, Oct 13 — The upgrading and maintenance work on the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant’s (SSP1 WTP) critical assets is at 83.9 per cent, as of 5pm today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor (Air Selangor) said the critical works are expected to be finished by 11pm tonight.

“The water supply will be restored in stages, after the system has been stabilised, and is expected to be fully restored by 9pm this Saturday (October 16),” it said in a statement.

In the days leading up to the scheduled water disruption, the public residing in the Petaling, KL, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat dan Kuala Selangor districts were advised to store sufficient amounts of water at home or at work for use.

The users in the affected 998 areas may refer to www.hentitugas.airselangor.com for more information, and find out when the water supply in their respective area will be restored.

From today until Saturday, Air Selangor has prepared 18 public water taps and 105 tank lorries for crucial premises including hospitals, dialysis centres, Covid-19 treatment and quarantine centres, vaccination centres, and funerals.

Four water filling stations have also been opened to commercial customers, from which they can make purchases using tank lorries.
