SHAH ALAM, Nov 16 — The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) has raided a factory operating without licence and confiscated 56 aluminium bars worth RM300,000 at the Sungai Choh Industrial area, near Serendah.

MPHS president Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said the operation, held on November 9, also saw two workers of Chinese nationality detained as they failed to provide legal documents.

“Upon our arrival at the location, the premises’ main gate was unlocked and our enforcement officer found two guards, five forklifts and stacks of 56 aluminium bars.

“This is the largest seizure carried out by MPHS, and our inspection has found that the premise is still in operation based on the equipment’s layout and raw material waste on the floor,” he said in a statement

According to Mohd Hasry, the inspection on the premises was carried out in accordance with the provisions of By-Laws 3 and 38 of the Trade, Business and Industry By-Laws (MDHS) 2007.

Apart from the bars, other items seized included eight gas tanks; five forklifts; four monitors, keyboards and computers, respectively; three printers and one digital scale..

“All of the items have been brought to the storage room for further action,” he said.
