Recognition given to nearly 300 businesses in Selangor for good pricing, user-friendliness

SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 — Approximately 287 premises in Selangor have been recognised for their customer satisfaction and reasonable pricing by the Kedai Harga Patut Awards (AKHP) 2021.

Selangor state executive councillor for consumer affairs and halal industry Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said the criteria for recognition includes the business not having many customer complaints, customer satisfaction with the prices offered, and a network facilitates users.

“The awards is among the state government initiatives to create a reasonably priced market, as well as to arrange the issue of goods prices increasing in the market, as well as reduce the consumers’ burden.

“We will try to involve the premises recognised by the awards in state government activities, as a gesture of appreciation for their efforts to help disabled persons, such as providing vouchers,” he said at the awards handover programme MRKB Book Store in Seksyen 19 and Pusat Pakaian Hari-Hari Ole-Ole in Seksyen 18.

The awards are organised by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry Selangor.

Zawawi added that to encourage public awareness on the pricing of goods, a number of campaigns will be launched next year for consumers.

“We want to bring about public awareness on the importance of knowing about the prices of goods, compared to taking enforcement action.

“Consumers should know their rights and responsibilities in services, especially the telecommunications sector and online buying and selling,” he said.
