SHAH ALAM, Nov 17 — A group of luxury car clubs have raised RM12,700 in total donations within two weeks to three orphanages in the Klang Valley involving 56 orphans.

The contribution was collected in conjunction with the SACC Charity Drive programme held at the SACC Mall, here, said PKNS Real Estate Sdn Bhd (PREC) in a statement today.

Programme organiser and R Group Capital Sdn Bhd director Shahrin Ong said following the donation drive, a Supercar Sunday event is held monthly.

“On November 27, we will hold a screening of the telemovie Marabahaya Underground in collaboration with Astro First, while on December 31, we will hold a countdown event with luxury cars club, Harley Davidson Malaysia Club, and Vespa club at SACC Mall,” he said.

Meanwhile, PREC chief executive officer Fakru Radzi Ab Ghani said apart from welcoming and celebrating the orphans, such programmes held at shopping malls would give a positive impact on tenants, such as the SACC Mall and PKNS Complex in Shah Alam, in restoring the retail sector that was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are proud of this collaboration and we hope that the Supercar Sunday Programme can be a signature event at SACC Mall.

“Through it, visitors can take a closer look at sports and luxury branded cars and grab the chance to take pictures with their dream cars. They are also given the opportunity to ride the cars,” said Fakru, adding that the agency will strive to make corporate social responsibility activities an ongoing effort that would benefit others.

The SACC Charity Drive was held with the support of TerMeetUp Group, members of Harley Davidson Malaysia and Mustang Group. Others sponsors include SACC Mall, PREC, Bazaarlokal.com, LumiX Technology, Robotz and Wrapz63.

The recent Supercar Sunday programme event held at SACC Mall is the fourth installation, which saw more than 40 sports cars with a total of 50,000 horsepower showcased at the event.
