KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 — Store N Go Sdn Bhd, brand owner of Comel Baby, has beaten 181 other shortlisted contestants to emerge as the champion of the Top E-Commerce Merchant Awards (Top ECM) this year.

The baby’s clothing company clinched the top spot for having secured the highest cumulative points in relation to judges’ marks and the number of sales and orders to win RM12,000 in cash, a trophy and a certificate.

Selangor state executive councillor for industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim in his opening speech today said the participating e-commerce merchants have continuously demonstrated creativity, innovation and good business sense while building a rapport with their customers.

“I am happy to note that this year’s edition of the Top ECM saw 213 merchants applying for this one and only e-commerce competition in Malaysia and 181 qualified to participate in the competition.

“From the 14-day Online Sales Contest, RM47 million was generated in sales with over 358,609 orders. This is a record-breaking figure since the Top ECM was launched in 2015.

“This is a 28 per cent increase from last year’s sales at RM36.6 million and 264,284 orders. This has also surpassed the initial target of RM40 million in sales and has definitely demonstrated the strong growth of e-commerce in Malaysia of around 30 per cent to 40 per cent in the past year,” he said at the Top ECM 2021 Awards Ceremony here.

Hardware hypermarket company SLL Machinery Hardware Sdn Bhd and SNS Network (M) Sdn Bhd – which owns iTworld, an authorised Apple reseller – secured the second and third spots respectively, bringing home RM8,000 and RM5,000, a trophy and a certificate each.

Securing the fourth to tenth spots are SPF Home Deco Sdn Bhd, DirectD Retail & Wholesale Sdn Bhd, Pokoktua Pallet Houz, Shellys Marketing Sdn Bhd, PTT Outdoor (My) Sdn Bhd, Illegear Sdn Bhd, and Livinggears Malaysia Sdn Bhd. They will be bringing home RM1,500 in cash each, as well as trophies and certificates.
