Dam water levels in Selangor under control — Izham

SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — The status of all dams in Selangor is under 100 per cent control, as of 8pm yesterday, said state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Izham Hashim.

In a statement, he said the water levels at the dams in Batu, Semenyih, Klang Gates, Tasik Subang, Selangor River, and Sungai Tinggi have indicated a downward trend, except for the dams in Langat and Sungai Labu.

Izham added the dam at Batu and Klang Gates have also undergone the water release mechanism.

On the restoration of the electricity supply, he said 1,361 of the 1,407 substations affected by the floods have been restored.

The remaining 46 substations currently being restore include 34 in Shah Alam, five in Kuala Selangor, three in Banting and Sepang respectively, and one in Klang.

For the Taman Sri Muda area, 55 of the 67 substations affected by the floods have been restored.

Similarly efforts are underway to restore telecommunications towers, including 23 in Petaling, 19 in Klang, 14 in Kuala Selangor, and two in Sepang.

Izham said the Mineral and Geoscience Department also received two reports of landslides at Jalan Hamza in Kampung Budiman Seksyen U14, Shah Alam, and Jalan BU 1/1 in Taman Bukit Utama, Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang.
