Independent monitoring on #Selangor2022 execution

SHAH ALAM, Dec 10 — The state government will appoint an independent team to monitor the implementation of initiatives and projects announced in the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022).

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the move was to ensure that everything planned could be implemented according to plan.

“The state government learns from past experiences and does not want to repeat the mistakes made as well as explore new things for the well-being of the people.

“We have not forgotten on the project monitoring aspect that was announced… we will appoint and highlight the independent team to ensure the implementation and achievement of projects are done well,” he said.

Speaking at the adjournment of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting here yesterday, Amirudin said the aspects of procurement, transparency and integrity must be defended because it is prioritised by the people.

On November 26, the Selangor government presented the 2022 Budget with an estimated expenditure of RM2.34 billion to increase benefits to the people, the business community and the state’s economy.

Amirudin said the budget, which took into account the expected state revenue of RM2.1 billion and the estimated expenditure of RM2.323 billion, had a deficit of RM222.7 million.
