Klang accounts for more than half of relief centres in Selangor, housing over 32,000 victims

SHAH ALAM, Dec 20 — A total of 32,044 flood victims are placed at 162 temporary relief centres (PPS), as of 10am this morning.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the PPS are located in all nine districts of the state.

“Klang recorded the highest number with 18,858 individuals,” he said on Twitter today.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported Selangor Police Headquarters as saying a total of 73 roads in the state have been closed, involving nine District Police Headquarters (IPD) following the floods which had not receded as of 4am this morning.

Two roads under the Kuala Lumpur International Airport IPD are closed, while North Klang (nine); Sungai Buloh (two); Subang Jaya (11); Kuala Langat (27); Sepang (five); Shah Alam (six); South Klang (10) and Hulu Selangor (one).
