PUCHONG, Dec 15 — More than 7,000 low-income families from the B40 group throughout the state will receive baby formula and disposable diapers from the Selangor government, said state executive councillor for women and family development Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

She said the initiative began in July, and is being carried out in stages. Thus far it has benefitted 1,510 recipients, involving an allocation of RM200,000.

Its second phase targets 5,600 people involving an RM336,000 allocation, which will be distributed by the Wanita Berdaya Selangor.

“This programme aims to help ease the burden of women who are most affected by Covid-19, as well as provide support in meeting the growth needs of children,” she said.

Dr Siti Mariahsaid this at a press conference after officiating the programme to distribute baby formula and disposable diapers to B40 recipients, at the Dewan Serbaguna MPSJ Kampung Seri Aman here today.

She also urged those affected to immediately apply for assistance at the nearest community service centre.

“We are also open to forming smart partnerships with corporate companies, to implement programmes to assist the people of this state,” she said.
