SHAH ALAM, Jan 6 — A total of 4,500 flood-affected families in Klang will receive RM1,000 in Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) cash aid by Sunday.

Klang district officer Mohd Faizal Abd Raji said they will increase the daily capacity of aid recipients, by involving all affected areas in phases.

“As of yesterday a total of 2,304 families have received the assistance, involving a financial impact of RM2.304 million.

“For today, we have distributed the aid to 800 residents of Kampung Lombong, along with the RM1,000 Bantuan Wang Ihsan (BWI) from the Federal government,” he said.

Mohd Faizal was speaking during the BSB distribution ceremony to flood victims at Dewan MPKK Kampung Lombong earlier today.

Also present was state Islamic Religious Affairs, Consumer Affairs and Halal Industry Committee chairman Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni, who is also the Sungai Kandis assemblyman.

On December 21 last year, the Selangor government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB programme, following the severe floods that affected eight districts in the state.

Eligible recipients include flood victims who were relocated to the registered PPS, private PPS, and those who chose to remain with their homes.

The disbursement of the cash aid is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
