SHAH ALAM, Jan 31 — Hiking activities at the Selangor permanent forest reserves are set to reopen beginning February 5.
However, the Selangor State Forestry Department in a posting on Facebook today said the activities remain restricted in Gunung Nuang due to the maintenance works following the rainy season.
The state agency said approval is required by acquiring the forest reserves’ entrance permit (Form 6 – hiking) beforehand.
The areas in the Selangor Central Forest that are open to hikers include Gunung Hitam, Bukit Cenuang, Sungai Lepoh waterfall, Bukit Saga, Bukit Apek, Bukit Broga, Bukit Kembara, Ulu Perdik waterfall, Sungai Pisang waterfall, Sofea Jane waterfall and Lubuk Tedung waterfall.
As for the Hulu Selangor forest, the areas include Gunung Ulu Semangko, Bukit Choroko, Bukit Kutu, Lata Medang waterfall, Lata Macau waterfall, Setinggi waterfall and Lubuk Kawah waterfall.
On December 1 last year, all hiking activities in the forest reserves were restricted. Individuals who violated the notice were subject to action under the National Forestry Act 1985 (Adoption) Enactment.
