SHAH ALAM, Feb 23 — The state government has implemented various incentives to empower its education agenda, specifically for Selangor students.
These include the RM1,000 cash assistance under the Iltizam Mahasiswa Selangor programme for new students from low-income families (B40).
On top of that, the state government has also provided convertible loans for students to further their study either in Selangor or other states under the Selangor Scholarship Group Fund (Tabung Kumpulan Wang Biasiswa Selangor) as well as providing a free SIM card with one year’s worth of free Internet data.
“Aside from prioritising the education agenda for all, Selangor also cares about students’ welfare,” said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on Twitter today.
In the 2022 Selangor Budget which was tabled on November 26 last year, RM2.34 billion was allocated with RM1.12 billion earmarked for development purposes.
The budget is set to benefit a wide range of categories, including students, women, people with disabilities, entrepreneurs, and farmers in all areas such as health, education, industry, business, tourism, and agriculture.
