GOMBAK, March 13 — The Jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme has offered better deals to the public on various essential goods than the market rate.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the affordable pricing does not affect the quality of the items on sale.

“The programme is an effort to reduce the impact of rising prices of goods by selling necessities such as chickens, eggs and others at affordable prices.

“Through this programme, we can provide the public with the opportunity to purchase items that are much cheaper than the market price. Not only it is affordable, but the quality is also not affected,” he said when met at the Juala Prihatin Rakyat programme in the Sungai Tua constituency, here today.

Amirudin, who is also the Sungai Tua state assemblyman, said the initiative is the eighth installation since it was introduced on February 28.

The Jualan Prohatin Rakyat programme is held in 64 areas across Selangor to ease the burden of the people following the price hike of goods and in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya festival.

A total of 10,000 chickens, 3,100 kilogrammes of fresh meat, 6,200 kilogrammes of mackerel and sardines and 315,000 Grade B eggs are targeted to be sold under the initiative.
