In a warning issued at 3.15pm on Facebook, MetMalaysia said the districts include Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

The agency has also issued warnings of similar weather for other areas including Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Meanwhile, in other states similar bad weather is also predicted for Perak (Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim) and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah and Rembau).

It also expected bad weather until 5pm in Sabah: Pedalaman (Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau and Tambunan) and Pantai Barat (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran dan Kota Belud) as well as Labuan.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur more than an hour.
