MBSA photography competition offers RM28,000 in cash prizes

SHAH ALAM, March 22 — Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) is organising the 2022 Shah Alam Photography Competition from March 15 to September 15.

The competition offers a total prize of RM28,000 to the winners. Participation is free and open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.

MBSA Corporate and Public Relations head Shahrin Ahmad said five categories would be contested, namely buildings or landmarks, nature, lifestyle, and night scene.

“The photography competition is an initiative to provide an avenue and opportunity for the public to showcase their talents and encourage the community to appreciate and love the city of Shah Alam through the lens of photography.

“Participants can take photos at interesting places around Shah Alam such as tourist locations, buildings, monuments, lakes, parks or landscapes,” he said in a statement.

Shahrin said the first place would win a cash prize of RM3,000; the second prize (RM2,000), the third prize (RM1,000) and a consolation reward worth RM200 each for five people.

He said the winners would be evaluated according to a few aspects based on the best theme, original composition, creativity and application of photography techniques aside from requiring the photo to be taken around the areas administered by MBSA.

Those interested can get the form via MBSA’s website at www.mbsa.gov.my or visit the MBSA Corporate and Public Relations Division located at the Ground Floor of Wisma MBSA in Section 14, Shah Alam.
