PNSB to build new Shah Alam landmark with garden concept

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, March 1 — The city of Shah Alam will soon have new landmarks when Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad’s (PNSB) complex with an office in the park concept is fully completed.

The complex’s construction on a 90.21-acre site in Section 5 involves two phases, with phase one expected to be completed within three to five years.

PNSB chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said the project is quite suited to a planned and modern city that serves as the state government’s administration centre.

He added the new complex is situated next to the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah building and will be complete with commercial buildings and condominiums.

“The project may take some time, but InsyaAllah (God willing), the first phase involving 30 acres of land, will house the state government complex and GLCs.

“Once completed, the complex will become the state government’s new administrative centre, in addition to serving as the offices of departments and GLC holding companies in a central manner, for the ease of customers,” said Raja Ahmad Shahrir when met at the prize-giving ceremony for the Government Complex, GLC Development And Commercial Component Proposal Design Competition, at the Shah Alam Convention Centre earlier today.

He said the second phase involving the construction of the commercial component and condominium would take place on a 60.21-acre site and provide returns to subsidiary companies in operation for over three decades.

“The complex will be PNSB’s pride and joy, in addition to the organisation making history as a proactive GLC,” Raja Ahmad Shahrir said.

The competition, organised in November last year, was won by AJC Planning Consultants Sdn Bhd with its state-of-the-art concept inspired by flower petals and palettes.

The competition also saw the participation of several other companies and organisations, including GDP Architecture Sdn Bhd, AY Architecture Sdn Bhd, and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam’s Architecture Planning and Surveying Faculty.
