SHAH ALAM, March 10 — State-owned company KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) has mobilised its workers and assets to Taman Kinrara, Puchong for a week to help in the post-flood clean-up operation.

Its assemblyman Ng Sze Han said the clean-up operation which began yesterday has allowed affected residents to clear out damaged items and garbage.

“I understand the struggles and dilemmas faced by the residents of Taman Kinrara. Some of them just bought new furniture after the flooding incident last year, only for the items to become submerged again.

“It takes time to choose which items you want to keep or get rid of. Do not worry, take your time,” he said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Ng, who is also KDEBWB chairman, said the clean-up process began yesterday morning and involves two excavators, six 10-tonnes lorries and 10 Roll-on-Roll-off bins.

“The community centre is also ready to assist residents in need,” he added.

Heavy rains on Monday caused several areas in Selangor to be hit with floods, with 1,215 victims from 298 families evacuated to nine temporary relief centres.
