SHAH ALAM, March 28 — The planned strengthening and stabilising works for Sungai Kuyoh’s banks in Taman Kinrara, Puchong will begin shortly, said state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han.

He said the advertising for the tenders of the 300-metre project was issued sometime last week.

“In addition, DAP Kinrara’s team has gone down to the site of Kolam Bohol earlier this morning, to observe the works to deepen the pond which is becoming more shallow and narrow.

“Thank you to the Kuala Lumpur Irrigation and Drainage Department for commencing the
dredging work for Kolam Bohol. The work is expected to conclude in early July,” Ng said in an Instagram post.

The councillor, who is also the Kinrara state assemblyman, asked the public to pray that the pond deepening works and bank stabilisation efforts will prevent further flooding in Taman Kinrara.

The planned and ongoing works are part of the flood mitigation steps taken for the benefit of Taman Kinrara’s residents, as the area is prone to floods after heavy rains.

Residents have also complained that Kolam Bohol, a flood retention pond, needs to be dredged as it is overwhelmed with slit and undergrowth.
