Selangor Sultan to open Fifth Term of 14th state assembly tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, March 13 — The First Meeting of the Fifth Term of the 14th Selangor State Legislative Assembly will be opened by Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj tomorrow.

The Selangor Ruler will be accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

The state assembly meeting, which adjourned on December 9 last year, will reconvene for ten days from March 14 to 25.

All individuals involved, including state representatives and media practitioners, must be fully vaccinated and undergo the Covid-19 swab test before the sitting. Those who are experiencing Covid-like symptoms are not allowed to attend the session.

Among the issues that will be debated include the state budget, the recent flood disaster and the state government’s preparations for the endemic phase.

Selangor Speaker Ng Suee Lim had assured that all state representatives would be given ample time to raise various matters concerning the people’s interest.

“We will convene for two weeks and I will give ample time to all state assemblymen to speak,” he said.
