PETALING JAYA, April 10 — A total of 450 individuals from Bukit Gasing have received the Jom Shopping voucher from the Selangor government in conjunction with the Hari Raya season.

Its state representative R Rajiv said that the recipients are those from the low income (B40) group who had never received the vouchers.

“We have distributed the vouchers, and the recipients can redeem them at the Giant Hypermarket in Kelana Jaya in preparations for the Hari Raya festival.

“I hope that the contribution by the state government would be able to help them, especially following the price hike of goods,” he said.

The Selangor administration had allocated RM3.34 million this year for the shipping vouchers during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri season, which would benefit 33,400 B40 households.

The Jom Shopping Raya initiative was introduced by the state administration to help the B40 group and is a long term effort to look out for the welfare and wellbeing of the people.

The aid is channelled during the different festive seasons.
