Jobs aplenty available when state career carnival kicks off in June

SHAH ALAM, April 6 — Up to 30,000 employment opportunities will be up for grabs through the Selangor Mega Job Carnival that will take place at the MBSA Convention Centre on June 11 and June 12.

State executive councillor for human capital development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said currently 150 employers including those in the fields of flight, cosmetics, automotive, information technology, manufacturing, education, design and finance have agreed to join in the carnival.

“The carnival this time also offers job opportunities in the fields of flight and cosmetics. The two fields were not part of the fair when we organised it last year.

“The employers in those fields have expressed interest in joining the programme as those sectors are in dire need of manpower post-pandemic,” he told SelangorKini earlier today.

Mohd Khairuddin added that seeing as Malaysia is now entering the endemic phase, the job carnival will be organised on a large scale where the public can attend interviews face-to-face.

“Even though the carnival will be organised on a large scale we are still bound to the standard operating procedures. I hope this programme will be able to reduce Selangor’s unemployment rate,” he said.

Last year the state government also organised the Jelajah Selangor Bekerja 2021 programme at several locations in Selangor, including in Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Hulu Langat and Petaling which offered over 25,000 employment opportunities.
