MB advises public to comply with Ramadan bazaar SOPs, says numbers, locations suited to avoid congestion

SUBANG JAYA, April 9 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has expressed his satisfaction with the adherence to standard operating procedures (SOP) in Ramadan bazaars throughout the state.

He said thus far it remains under control despite reports of congestion in certain locations.

“The important thing is that the local authorities must see the suitability of the location and therefore are encouraged to hold bazaars in open spaces, fields and squares to make control easier.

“I also advise that local authorities expand the number of bazaars so the number of traders in any one place can be limited. When the number of traders is reduced it can also reduce the congestion caused by visitors,” Amirudin said.

He was speaking after the officiation of the Selangor Platform (Plats) 3.0 at the Bandar Kinrara 5 Ramadan bazaar in Puchong yesterday evening.

The Menteri Besar also spent time interacting with traders and bazaar goers, accompanied by state executive councillor for entrepreneur development  Rodziah Ismail, state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han, and state executive councillor for caring government V. Ganabatirau.

This year the state government has offered approximately 11,967 plots to Ramadan bazaar traders throughout Selangor.

All the plots were prepared by the 12 local authorities after taking into consideration the spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant that has been proliferation throughout the country since early this year.
