MBI allocates RM300,000 for cheap sales initiative under PKPS

PETALING JAYA, April 11 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has allocated RM300,000 for the Jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme, managed by the Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS).

Its Corporate Social Responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said MBI had taken part in the programme to ensure that the people of Selangor would benefit from the cheap sales of essential goods through the initiative.

“We have set aside a budget and subsidised the price of fresh meat and chicken to be sold at a much more affordable rate than the market price.

“We had previously planned to initiate such a programme. Now that PKPS is running it, we have taken part by contributing RM300,000 cash,” he said when met at the breaking fast and tarawih prayers event hosted by Selangor FC and MBI at the MBPJ Stadium here, last night.

The Jualan Prihatin Rakyat initiative will be held on a larger scale before the Hari Raya festival, from April 29 to May 1.

The programme offers the sales of chickens, fresh meat, fish, and vegetables.
